The 5 meter version is just enough to measure the entire width of the house without having to connect a ruler. The self-locking feature is very convenient, just pull it out and it will stay there, no need to press the button.

I only choose the 5m version because I do interior design or measure long rooms. I really like it because the ruler doesn't bend when pulled out, it's still sturdy.
